The Canby Farmers Market is always looking for volunteers. As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on volunteers from the community to help our market remain a fun and inviting place, and it’s a great way to get to know our vendors and other members of the community. If you are an active community member or a student and your school has a program to gain credit for community volunteering, please consider the market as an ideal place to be helpful, gain credit and have a good time!
Open from May 13th, 2-17 - September 30th, 2017 from 10 am - 2 pm, we need weekly volunteers before, during, and after market. Tasks include set up, supervising children’s activities, assisting the market manager in the running of the market, greeting and helping customers, assisting vendors and closing down at the end of market. Volunteers may work either a half day, or all day. Along with general volunteering to help the market run smoothly, here are some more specific positions we currently hope to fill:
Set Up / Breakdown - assist market staff with setting up the market in the morning and/or cleanup in the afternoon.
Information Booth - greet guests, answer questions, and help get kids signed up for the Sprouts Kids Club!
Youth Education volunteer - assist with planning and managing children’s learning activities at market, help get kids more involved with the local food community and eating healthy.
Photography volunteer - take photographs and document the farmers market and other special events.
Culinary Program Volunteer - help with CFM’s culinary education program such as cooking demonstrations and market tastings. Events don't happen weekly, so contact us to be on call for these opportunities
Education Projects Volunteer - assist in the development, planning, promotion and management of educational workshops at market. Help create an educational curriculum for sustainability skills, like food preservation, cooking, composting, etc.
